Luigi

"Luigi" is an authentic Italian trattoria, located in the charming old Nahalat Shiva neighborhood in Jerusalem. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful stone house, just below the small pedestrian passage of Yoel Salomon Street.

The place is named after chef Luigi, who was the first chef of the restaurant (since it was established in 1991). Luigi brought new tastes from Italy to Jerusalem - the tastes of rich fresh pasta, made of durum wheat and cooked ‘Al dente’. Dishes like Gnocchi, Ravioli, Focaccia and Calzone gained a lot of enthusiastic costumers, and the rest is history…

Luigi's menu includes a vast selection of dishes in varied styles, representing the different regions of Italy: special home-made breads, many kinds of fresh pasta (made and cooked daily in the restaurant's kitchen), as well as rich home-made pizza in diverse styles. The pizza of Luigi is regarded as one of best to be found in Israel.

The restaurant is uniquely designed: the arcs in the walls and the molded chandeliers create a warm inner space and a welcoming homely atmosphere. The guests may also sit outdoors, in the lovely balcony by the typical Jerusalem alley. Due to the quality foods, the warm hosting and the pleasant time, Luigi attracts various crowds of loyal costumers of all sectors and ages, from Jerusalem - and from all around the country.


● Luigi is a kosher restaurant, under the supervision of the Chief Rabbinate of Jerusalem (the Jerusalem rabanut).

● The place is open all week long, from morning till midnight. In weekends, the restaurant is open until the Sabbath enters (Friday), and then being opened again in Saturday, immediately after the Sabbath is out.
